Developing Degree Programs

I have had the pleasure and honor to work with several institutions over the years to hone and/or develop curricula.   With my varied background in media development, English literature, history, and business, I have worked to cross disciplines in developing programs that inspire and engage.

Additional Interesting classes

I was first given a chance to develop curricula by a professor and mentor of mine Sven Travis.  Sven is one of the founders of the Parsons Design & Technology program, where I earned my MFA (as did my son Dylan) and it is where I started my teaching career.  Knowing my end goal in the program was to become a college professor, Sven recruited me to represent the department in a collaborative effort across the many design departments to design a yearlong introductory design lab for incoming BFA freshmen.  That’s where I really got a hands-on education designing curriculum with some of the greatest design educators in the country. That experience led to a number of opportunities in curriculum development, and I will always be indebted to Sven for providing me such an amazing opportunity.

My interests, as this web site demonstrates, are far reaching, and I have been lucky in that colleagues at various institutions have given me the opportunity to work outside the discipline of design to work with them in developing a wide assortment of other courses.  Here are some of the miscellaneous courses that I have developed over the years….
